how i know you

Have you ever wondered what in the world does this statement mean:

“how I know you”

Scenario: You’re talking to a friend, bla bla bla, and lets say this friend says “don’t bluff” and you answer “why would I be bluffing?” and the friend would say, “how I know you”

Honestly, does it even make any sense? How I know you. Well if it’s used in proper english terms, it would be asking how you got to know this person. But if it’s used as per the scenario above, it doesn’t make sense, really.

I don’t deny that I do sometimes use it, but I suddenly realised it today, what does it mean? The other day I was having this conversation with a friend, it goes bla bla bla and that statement came out of him, so I said, “erm how I know you ar? From high school lor” he started laughing cause he does realize that its wrong.

It’s a wonder how malaysians can come out with a statement like this. I would presume that it’s a direct translation from somewhere. Malaysia memang boleh! Only we malaysians can understand each other. Try it on people from other countries, they’ll think you’re stupid.
